Abstract
Blockchain and AI were developed separately, but nowadays, there is research on the integration of those technologies to benefit from both. First, the blockchain technology gives such possibilities as data provenance, decentralized trust, and tampering resistance; second, the artificial intelligence gives prediction possibilities and algorithms for making decisions. Literature review about the research which has been done in 2026 concerns the combination of blockchain and AI in the following fields: health care, financial industry, logistics, energy sector, smart cities, and decentralized training using AI.
Advantages connected with security, data integrity, privacy, and efficiency, as well as possible barriers associated with scalability, computational costs, quality of data, and regulation are mentioned in the review. The review shows that blockchain may increase security and trust in AI systems, while AI may increase efficiency of blockchain systems. The possible trends include lightweight inference, privacy-preserving machine learning, and AI-based smart contracts security.
